I received my B.S in Biomedical Engineering from Trine University in May of 2021. While there, I played on Trine’s inaugural NCAA women’s division III hockey team. Sports have always been a big part of my life and I knew I wanted to stay connected to the athletic community in some way. Throughout my youth and collegiate career, I saw how detrimental concussions can be for individuals beyond just the playing field. These experiences as well as the growing issue of CTE in professional athletes has compelled me to study the mechanisms of traumatic brain injury and search for better solutions in preventing future neurodegeneration.
